120 years ago Josef Anton Meggle, the grandfather of today´s owner Toni Meggle, has founded the company MEGGLE. He started with a small cheese dairy near Wasserburg (not far away from Munich/Bavaria). Today the company belongs to the most long-established and most famous producers of dairy products in Europe and process 750 Mio kg milk per annum.
MEGGLE Hrvatska d.o.o. is a 100%-daughter company of the MEGGLE Eastern Europe GmbH which is part of the German Dairy group MEGGLE.
Since 1996 the consumers can find the popular and high quality products of MEGGLE also in the shelves of the Croatian supermarkets. A sales & distribution office was founded at this time by MEGGLE in Matulji near Opatija to operate better on the Croatian market.
In the Year 1999, together with a dairy from Osijek (IPK Mia d.d.), MEGGLE founded joint-venture company MEGGLE-MIA d.o.o., that produced exclusively MEGGLE branded products. Ever since joint venture company was founded and especially after full acquisition of former partner IPK MIA by MEGGLE, major investments have been done in the production facilities of the plant (new butter production, new filling-line for fermented products, modern machines for production of UHT-milk with highly modern packaging material, new PET line and the complete infrastructure was reconstructed).
In September 2004 MEGGLE merged joint-venture company MEGGLE-MIA d.o.o. with IPK Mia d.d., to MEGGLE Osijek d.d. as one unified production company and in December 2005 another and final merger followed, MEGGLE Osijek and sales office MEGGLE Adria became today´s MEGGLE Hrvatska d.o.o seated in Osijek.
In the year 2004 the production in Osijek achieved, as one of a few dairies in Croatia, already the EU-certification and in 2008 now also the DIN ISO 9001 certification. This allows the import of dairy products from Croatia to the EU.
MEGGLE Hrvatska continuously develops products under MEGGLE brand but also takes care about regional brand Mia Mill as strongest regional brand in Slavonia throughout synergy of modern technology and preserving domestic high quality standards.

Nowadays MEGGLE Hrvatska is 3rd strongest dairy company in Croatia with long tradition in production of high quality products from best slavonian milk, employing in Croatia approx. 250 employees and processes around 120.000 litre milk per day.
MEGGLE didn’t just transfer the German assortment to Croatia, but attend precisely the market with needed products: what the housewife needs for her recipes, what has in the Croatian cuisine a long tradition and what meets the taste in this country best, is going to be produced. The assortment varys from butter, creamy joghurtbutter, creams, UHT-Milk, traditional spreads and joghurts, refreshing joghurtdrinks to fine butter specialties (such as herb butter and garlic butter) or baguettes filled with butter.
